PHILICPHOBIC

December 12  through December 31, 2017
Stairwell, Elevator, & Education Galleries

PHILICPHOBIC is a group pop-up exhibition featuring work from 33 artists, all Pensacola-based or Pensacola-bred, presented by Glob Artist Collective.

The exhibition prompts idiosyncratic explorations of private desires (philic) and worst fears (phobic), and the juxtapositions that press upon those boundaries. Exhibiting artists were asked to confront the esoteric and interconnected Freudian nature of deep-seated fears and intrusive desires by addressing the physiological and psychological spectrums of anxiety, repression, and arousal through aesthetic explorations.

Glob Artist Collective is an ever-shifting mass of artists that shrinks and expands to suit the needs of 'the artist' as a theoretical entity.
