Digital works include video shorts, short animations, animated GIFs, Split Depth GIFs, Perfect Loops, Cinemagraphs and Digital Stills for CUBED Luminous 2018.

CUBED Luminous will take place at the University of West Florida Historic Trust Museum Plaza in downtown Pensacola, Florida on the closing weekend of Foo Foo Fest, November 8 through November 11, 2018.

Open Call Artists are eligible to submit up to three, silent digital works that will be presented on the 18 foot LED mega cube. Artists are encouraged to respond to the theme of liveness and luminosity. Juried artists’ work will also be shown on the Pensacola Museum of Art website as part of the festival archive. Works may be on view in day and night time hours.

Project Description:

CUBED: Luminous
will partner with the University West Florida Historic Trust, the UWF Pensacola Museum of Art and ACRE TV Artist-Made-Tele-Vision will feature a diverse selection of digital and projection art from a combination of both invited and juried (open call) artists. CUBED: Luminous is made in part by Foo Foo Fest grant. Curated International artists will consider liveness and luminosity as digital video states of being. Juried artists from the open call will have opportunity to see their work on this year’s fifth cube, the LED mega cube. This visually dynamic public art project will activate and illuminate the urbanscape of Pensacola, Florida and offer myriad opportunities for our community and visitors to enjoy the city and the dynamic visuality of both emerging and established artists alike. The festival will include live music and performance, interactive cube painting, food trucks, and a Makers City Marketplace with Bare Hand Collective.

CUBED was created by Evan Levin and Ashton Howard in 2017.
CUBED: LUMINOUS curators include: CUBED, UWF Historic Trust, UWF Pensacola Museum of Art, Joseph Herring (House Pencil Green), Andrew Mausert-Mooney (ACRE TV), Kera McKenzie (ACRE TV) & Bare Hand Collective.
