Due to the high volume of calls to be made please allow time for staff to contact you directly. We ask that you do not phone the Museum prior to 5pm to obtain personal status early. The 62nd annual Members' Juried Exhibition is an opportunity for artist members, at all levels of expertise, to submit their artwork for display at the Pensacola Museum of Art. This exhibition is anticipated annually and offers a unique glimpse into the talent and creativity of artists within our community and Northwest Florida.
All current Museum members may enter up to three pieces of original artwork for juror consideration - only one work by each artist will have the potential of being selected. ![]() Juror
This year's juror is Dr. Kara Burns. Dr. Burns is an Assistant Professor of Art History at the University of South Alabama where she teaches courses the art, architecture, and archaeology of Greece, Etruria and Rome. She received her doctorate in History and Theory of Art with a specialization in Classical art and archaeology from the University of Arizona in 2012. In addition, she holds an M.A. in Art History from the University of Oregon and a B.A. in History from the University of Arizona. Dr. Burns has excavated in Tuscany and has conducted research at the University of Oxford, England, The Franklin University, Lugano, Switzerland, and the American Academy in Rome. Her main interests are in the ancient beliefs in the afterlife, ancient mystery cults, and Roman villas. Currently, she is preparing a book for publication in 2016 on the Orpheus mosaics of Southwest Britain. Wondering about your membership status? Entry Requirements The following qualifications must be met in order for your work to be considered: ❏ Artists may submit up to three entires; one potential acceptance by juror ❏ You must be a member of the Pensacola Museum of Art to enter. Your membership must be valid through April 2016. ❏ Work must be created within the last three years and not previously exhibited locally ❏ Work cannot exceed 72” in any direction ❏ Work cannot weigh more than 150 lbs Works in 2D and 3D are accepted, however the museum cannot accept video work, large installations or works requiring special installation instructions due to exhibition space and presentation limitations. Please submit one image for 2D work and two images for 3D work. Please title image files as follows: last name, title (Example: Doe, Untitled). Submitted images should be high resolution JPEG format and accurately represent your artwork. All submissions must be complete and received by: Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:59pm *The PMA reserves the right to re-use submitted images, as well as to photograph and/or reproduce any work accepted into the exhibition for publicity and marketing. *PMA will not act as a mediator for the sale of artwork. American Alliance of Museum standards and practices prohibit the Museum from commercial sale of exhibitions and doing so endangers the Museum's accreditation. No price stickers, signage, or price list will be available to visitors during the course of exhibition. Artist are welcome to sell their work privately while it is on display provided that no works are removed from the exhibition prior to Monday, April 18th. * A storage fee of $5 per day will be charged to accepted artwork not claimed on date of pickup; Monday, April 18th. If you are unable to submit online the Museum staff will be available on Monday, February 8th from 10am - 6pm to photograph work for you. Please note that this is not a professional photography shoot nor will the juror be present on this date.
