PHILICPHOBIC is a group pop-up exhibition featuring work from 33 artists, all Pensacola-based or Pensacola-bred, presented by Glob Artist Collective.
The exhibition prompts idiosyncratic explorations of private desires ( philic) and worst fears ( phobic), and the juxtapositions that press upon those boundaries. Exhibiting artists were asked to confront the esoteric and interconnected Freudian nature of deep-seated fears and intrusive desires by addressing the physiological and psychological spectrums of anxiety, repression, and arousal through aesthetic explorations.
Glob Artist Collective is an ever-shifting mass of artists that shrinks and expands to suit the needs of 'the artist' as a theoretical entity.
